The Albanian Football Association and the Professional Football League held a meeting with the leaders of the clubs of Kategoria Superiore. Present in this meeting were the President of AFA, Armand Duka, the head of the Professional League, Edvin Libohova, presidents and officials of nine clubs of the Superior category.
During the meeting, discussions were held for different problematic of the race in the conditions of a pandemic, but especially for the latest legal challenges on sports, approved by the Parliament of Albania.
After discussions that lasted for hours between the leaders of the clubs, the Professional Football League took a decision to boycott the championship, starting from 12 September, due to the lasts approved legal challenges that do not solve the requests of the clubs of Kategoria Superiore and do not fulfill neither of the promises made by the government.
In this framework, the League requires the approval of a new sponsors law according to the proposals of the football community and including the economic activities of football in the VAT reduced to 6%.

Decision of the Professional Football League
The Professional Football League, after getting acquainted with the legal changes for sports, notes that these changes do not solve the requests of the clubs of Kategoria Superiore and do not fulfill the promises made by the Albanian Government in the meeting of 11 March 2019.
In these conditions, the Professional Football League requires from the Government and the Parliament of Albania:
1. The approval of a new sponsors law according to the proposal of the football community, because the changes proposed by the government do not have a real effect on the football economy.
2. Including of all economic activities of football in the reduced VAT in 6%, as agriculture and tourism and not only in sports infrastructure.
3. Zeroing of fines and arrears for fiscal obligations for avoiding the financial collapse of the clubs.
4. Extention of the exclusion from income tax of sportsmen from 2-10 years. The Professional Football League decided to boycott the National Championship Kategoria Superiore from 12 September until the fulfillment of the upper mentioned requests.
