AFA statement

On April 8th 2015, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body decided that the EURO 2016 Qualifying match Montenegro – Russia, played in Podgorica, was declared forfeited, and that the FSCG has lost the game 3-0 in favor of Russia. At the same time FSCG has been ordered to play its next 2 UEFA matches behind closed doors. And last but not least, the FSCG was also fined with EUR 50.000.
The Albanian Football Association stands of the opinion that the decision given was accurate, in accordance with UEFA’s standards and rules, and considering the events which happened in Podgorica and prevented that the match may be played under normal circumstances.
Taking into consideration the mentioned decision, the Albanian Football Association highlights the fact that in the case of the EURO 2016 qualifying match Serbia-Albania, the decision taken by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has not used the same meter of evaluation, considering the facts that the violence experienced by the Albanian players in Belgrade, the pitch invasion, the racist behavior, and the objects through toward the Albanian team (chairs, flares, lighters, coins etc). At the same time, the 5000 police forces present at the stadium, were not able to allow to the Albanian National Team to normally enter the dressing rooms, after the match referee stopped the match at minute 42nd and ordered the teams to enter the dressing rooms. All of the above listed arguments easily emphasize the fact the Serbian FA, as the host Association, failed to take the necessary requirements for organizing a football match under the UEFA standards and rules.
On April 17th, CAS would have to carefully analyze and decide, not in favor of one or the other Association, but in favor of football and for the good of the
