General Secretary of Albanian Football Association, Ilir Shulku held a press conference in order to shed light about the three UEFA tournaments that will be organized by Albania during October, starting with tournament of U-19 and U-17 national teams , and concluding with the women’s U-19 activity.
During the press conference , General Secretary Shulku underlined that ‘’ October in not only the month for the matches of the national team against Spain and Italy. From 4 to 10 October , Albania will host six qualifying matches for the U-19 team , matches that will be played in Kamza and Tirana, matches previously decided by UEFA to be played in Albania.
Taking into consideration the successful standard of previous tournaments, UEFA trusted Albania as host country for Group 12 , composed of the teams of Albania, Ukraine, Montenegro and Norway.
AFA has taken all the necessary precautions. The matches will be played one in three days, on 4,7 and 10 October. The matches will be played in two stadiums, that of Kamza and in ‘’Selman Stermasi’’ stadium, according to a previously approved calendar by all the teams.
The national teams of four participating countries in group 12, will be accommodated in Durres. The U-19 national team of Albania, is accommodated at ‘’Tropical’’ hotel , and for days now has started the practice for the three matches.
It is the same even for the other tournaments’’,- declared Shulku. According to him, after the end of the official matches against Spain and Italy, and the matches of U-21 national team , organized in Albania , another tournament will be held in Elbasan and Tirana for the U-17 national team.
Spain , Croatia, Lichtenstein and Albania will be the four teams that will play on 19, 22 and 25 October. It is worth mentioning that the entrance for the three tournaments will be free of charge.
‘’We invite all the football lovers to follow the national teams in these qualifying matches. We conclude the month of October with another tournament , this time for U-19 national team. The matches will be played on 25,28 and 31 October in the stadiums of Durresi and Kamza’’, – concluded his declaration the general secretary of AFA Shulku, an at the end answered to the questions of the journalists present at the press conference.
