UEFA-s licensing criteria, AFA meets with the clubs

The Licensing Sector at the Albanian Football Association has recently held consecutive meetings with the Presidents of the Superior Category clubs, who will apply to receive a license from UEFA.

The President of the AFA, Armand Duka and the General Secretary, Ilir Shulku were also part of these informative and explanatory meetings. The meetings took place last week, starting with Apollonia and ending yesterday with Laçi.

This year, the licensing regulation of SuperLiga clubs has been aligned with the UEFA regulation for participation in European competitions.
During the meetings, the clubs were introduced to all the criteria they must meet in order to obtain a UEFA license: sports criteria, infrastructure, administration-personnel criteria, legal criteria and financial criteria. Emphasis was placed on completing the documentation for meeting the first four criteria, which is also the most voluminous part. The financial criteria remains the most important, as there are some clubs that still have problems in arrears to third parties, individuals and taxes. Any information on the financial criteria will need to be reported online.

For the first four criteria, the internal deadline is January 31, 2021. All clubs must submit files and documents registered with the Licensing Sector at AFA. For the last criteria, the internal deadline is February 28, 2021, while the deadline is March 31, 2021. In April, the criteria experts will compile the reports and in the middle of the month, the Licensing Commission will make the final decision on whether or not to grant the license to a club.

On Thursday, the Licensing Sector will hold another meeting with all the clubs and will ask them to complete the documents as soon as possible.
The Albanian Football Association has made available all the resources to the clubs, in order to help in this process.
