The President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, held a meeting today with the Mayor of the Municipality of Kurbin, Majlinda Cara, where discussions focused on the development of sports infrastructure in the city of Laç and strengthening institutional cooperation in support of football and the local community.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to collaborate on the construction of a modern sports complex in Laç, a strategic investment that will be carried out in partnership between the Albanian Football Association, the Municipality of Kurbin, and KF Laçi.
This project represents another important step in FSHF’s strategy to develop and modernize sports infrastructure across Albania, creating modern facilities for the growth of football and supporting future generations of players.
The FSHF Executive Committee has approved its support for the project, while the cooperation agreement between the three parties outlines their joint commitment to delivering one of the most significant infrastructure investments in the Kurbin region.
The new sports complex will be built to modern standards and will include two full-size artificial turf football pitches, one full-size natural grass pitch, and one smaller-sided pitch, creating a comprehensive training and football development center.
The Albanian Football Association will contribute 50% of the total investment, the Municipality of Kurbin will provide 30%, while KF Laçi will contribute 20%, including the value of the land provided by the club.
The investment is planned to be implemented in three phases. During the first phase, which FSHF, the Municipality of Kurbin, and KF Laçi have agreed to finance jointly, the football pitches, the complex’s road infrastructure, and the perimeter fencing will be constructed. The following phases will include the construction of spectator stands, supporting facilities with changing rooms, and a hotel building, completing the entire complex in accordance with the approved project.
The complex will provide modern conditions for football development at all levels and will serve as an important hub for KF Laçi, sports academies, national teams, and the community of the Municipality of Kurbin. At the same time, the investment will help raise the standards of sports infrastructure and create better opportunities for identifying and developing young football talent.
The implementation of this project once again confirms the successful model of cooperation between the Albanian Football Association, local government, and football clubs as the most effective way to deliver sustainable investments that benefit both football and local communities.
