The national team of Albania led by coach Christian Panucci lost the second match of UEFA NATIONS LEAGE, against Scotland, in the match held in ‘’Hampden Park’’, with the result, Scotland 2-0 Albania. The Red&Blacks finished the first half with the result 0-0, but suffered two goals in the second, with an own goal of Gjimshiti in the 47’ and Naismith scoring in the 68’ for the Scots.
Albania’s lineup: Strakosha, Binaku, Hysaj, Veseli (90+1 Mihaj), Gjimshiti, Memushaj, Ndoj (’66 Manaj), Lilaj, Xhaka, Balaj, Gavazaj (’46 Prenga).
Coach Panucci in his speech after the match underlined: ‘’ we prepared the match well. We were punished by a goal in the first minute of the second half, practically a gift. We have limits in defense, when others attack we let them and they score easy goals. We suffered a lot in the first half and we switched in a 3 man defense. I repeat, we allow a lot of space to our opponents. These are our limits, whether we play with 3 or other lineup. We don’t need one player, but a group play, the way the team moves, its spirit. We leave too much space in the last 20 meters.’’
