Albanian refereeing has received another recognition on the European stage. Juxhin Xhaja will officiate the match between Hoffenheim and FCSB. The match will take place on Thursday in Germany, at the “Rhein-Neckar-Arena,” and will kick off at 18:45.
Additionally, the assistants and the fourth official will also be Albanian. Arbër Zalla and Rejdi Avdo are Xhaja’s assistants, while Albert Doda is the fourth official.
The VAR will be handled by English referee Peter Bankes, with Spanish referee Carlos del Cerro Grande in the AVAR role.
This is the third UEFA Europa League match this season where the Albanian refereeing quartet (Juxhin Xhaja, Arbër Zalla, Rejdi Avdo, and Albert Doda) has officiated in the group stage.
Previously, they have also officiated in the matches AZ Alkmaar – Elfsborg and Elfsborg – Sporting Braga.
