As part of the preparations for the U-17 European Championship finals, a UEFA delegation conducted a four day inspection in Albania, closely evaluating the condition of the stadiums and training fields where the participating teams will play and prepare.
Accompanied by representatives of the Albanian Football Association, the UEFA delegation inspected the “Egnatia Arena” stadium, familiarizing themselves with its recent transformation, as well as the training fields at the “House of Football,” “Selman Stërmasi,” “Tofik Jashari,” “Sol Tropikal,” “Skënder Halili,” the annex of the “Roza Haxhiu” stadium, and the “Luzi” stadium.
Additionally, the UEFA delegation also inspected the three other stadiums where the final matches of the European Championship will be held: “Arena Kombëtare,” “Elbasan Arena,” and “Niko Dovana.”
As the tournament approaches, UEFA’s visits will become more frequent, while work to improve infrastructure continues at a rapid pace. Just a few days ago, the Executive Committee of the AFA approved a renovation plan for several sports fields, including full investments in “Selman Stërmasi,” “Skënder Halili,” “Tofik Jashari,” and “Roza Haxhiu,” as well as partial interventions in “Niko Dovana,” “Tropikal Sol,” “Luzi,” and “Egnatia Arena.”
These investments are expected to enhance the quality of conditions for the players and leave a significant legacy for Albanian football after the completion of the tournament.
