The Kosovo Football Association held its 2025 Regular Work Assembly today, with representatives from the Albanian Football Association also in attendance, including the Vice President of the AFA, Lutfi Nuri, and the General Secretary, Ilir Shulku.
In his welcome speech before the Assembly members, the General Secretary of the AFA, Ilir Shulku, comminicates the greetings and best wishes of President Armand Duka and the entire administration of the AFA.
“Dear President Agim Ademi,
Honorable UEFA representative, Denis Bastari, honorable FIFA representative, Marco Ferri,
Honorable representative of the Kosovo Olympic Committee, Musa Selimi,
Honorable representatives of the Kosovo Football Association, dear friends, and guests,
It is a pleasure to be here today, together with the AFA Vice President, Lutfi Nuri, representing the Albanian Football Association. I would like to convey the warmest greetings from AFA President Armand Duka and the entire administration of the Albanian Football Association,” said Shulku, highlighting Kosovo’s great progress in football development.
“It is a pleasure to witness the development of football in Kosovo over the years and the progress of the Kosovo Football Association.
Investments in infrastructure have transformed the quality of football, while the level of domestic championships has significantly improved, yielding promising results at all levels. A clear testament to this progress was last year’s historic achievement when Kosovo ranked among the top 100 national teams in the FIFA rankings for the first time.
This success is not a coincidence but the result of the tireless work of President Ademi, the Federation, and the entire football community in Kosovo,” emphasized AFA General Secretary Ilir Shulku, who added that cooperation between the two associations will continue to strengthen, with a shared goal of football development.
“Albania and Kosovo have always shared the same vision and passion for football development. Investing in sports infrastructure, educating and training coaches, developing women’s football, and creating the best possible conditions for children to play football are some of the common priorities of our two Associations. We will continue to work closely to further develop football, the most beloved sport worldwide,” said Shulku.
At the end of his speech, the AFA General Secretary wished success to the Kosovo National Team in the World Cup qualifiers and the Nations League play-off against Iceland, as well as a successful Assembly.
“In conclusion, I want to wish the Kosovo National Team success in the World Cup qualifiers and the Nations League play-off against Iceland. I wish you all a productive Assembly,” concluded AFA General Secretary Ilir Shulku.
