After making history by officiating a UEFA Women’s Champions League match for the first time, SL Benfica W – Barcelona W, Albanian referees Emanuela Rusta, Erinda Kume and Koleta Prenga on Friday recorded another success in the international arena.
Emanuela Rusta as the main referee and Erinda Kume together with Koleta Prenga as an assistant refereed the girls’ friendly match, Italy-Ireland. The challenge played at the “Viola Park” stadium in Florence ended with the result 0-0 and the Albanian referees had a very good performance.
Emanuela Rusta, Erinda Kume, Edjena Kapxhiu, Eglantina Pjetrushaj, Mirjeta Salla and Koleta Prenga are the Albanian referees equipped with the FIFA emblem, while in June 2023 Rusta became the first female referee promoted by the UEFA Referee Committee , rising to the first category.
The judgment at such levels and UEFA’s trust shows once again the growth of Albanian refereeing even at high levels of the European and world football scene.
