The red and black march calendar / The National Teams on “international” missions and historic Challenges

With the arrival of March, the excitement returns for all Albanians passionate about football. It is a month that brings not only the men’s and women’s national teams onto the pitch for 2026, but also major objectives and historic challenges for all our national sides.

For the first time in history, the senior national team will play in the play-off stage of a World Cup, marking a milestone moment for Albanian football. Their opponent will be Poland, a side with tradition and experience, in a match that will take place in Warsaw on March 26 at 20:45. Depending on the result of this encounter, Albania will play on March 31 at 20:45 against either the winner or the loser of the Ukraine/Sweden pairing, with everything to be decided by the March 26 clash.

The U-21 national team also begins a special international mission in Antalya, Turkey. The team, led by Alban Bushi, will face Japan in a special friendly on March 27, and three days later will play another prestigious match against the United States of America. Both matches will be broadcast live on FSHF TV.

March also marks the start of another journey for the U-19 national team, which begins its qualifying campaign for the 2027 European Championship. Under the guidance of Fatjon Tafaj, the Red and Blacks will play their Group B4 matches at the “House of Football.” On March 25 they will face Luxembourg, on March 28 Malta, and on March 31 Norway, with all three matches kicking off at 15:00.

The U-17 boys’ national team will also take the field, with coach Armand Dama making his debut on the bench in two friendly matches against Latvia on March 26 and 28 at the Vora Stadium.

Meanwhile, the women’s senior national team has begun preparations for the 2027 World Cup qualifiers. The team, led by Armir Grima, will play away against Montenegro in Nikšić on March 3 at 14:00, and on March 7 at 18:00 will host Czechia at the “Loro Boriçi” Stadium in Shkodër. Both matches will be broadcast live on FSHF TV.

At the same time, the U-17 girls’ national team will take the field on March 4 at the “House of Football” at 14:00 against Israel, in another important fixture of the international calendar.
