The Regional Football Association of Lezhë held today its General Electoral Assembly, where Kristian Gjidodaj was re-elected as president of SHRF Lezhë for the next four years.
Present at this Electoral Assembly were 11 members of the association, represented by 18 delegates, and all unanimously decided that President Kristian Gjidodaj would continue the work he started for the development of football in this region.
Additionally, other issues on the agenda were discussed, including the report on the association’s activities, approval of the financial statements, approval of the budget for 2025, the election of delegates who will represent SHRF Lezhë in the General Assembly of the AFA, as well as the change of the emblem.
During the proceedings of the Electoral Assembly of the Regional Football Association of Lezhë, Abdyl Kuriu, a member of the Executive Committee of the AFA, was also present. At the beginning of the meeting, he congratulated the members of SHRF Lezhë for their good work and encouraged them to continue in the same way to further develop football in this region.
Member of the Executive Committee, Abdyl Kuriu, emphasized that the support of the AFA for SHRF Lezhë will be even greater through various projects and infrastructural investments.
“It is a privilege to be here today at the Assembly of the Regional Football Association of Lezhë. Our participation reflects our commitment to continue the work that has begun, reflecting on achievements and the challenges ahead.
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for the excellent work you have done this year in the Lezhë region, all of you, but especially the president of this association, Mr. Kristian Gjidodaj. I encourage you to continue working with the same enthusiasm and dedication, to commit just as much as you did this year, and for the next year to achieve even more accomplishments and fulfill your goals.
Our focus remains on youth, grassroots, and the development of women’s football, continuing with projects such as “UEFA Playmakers” and “100 fields” for improving sports infrastructure.
For several years now, one of our main priorities has been supporting women’s football, with a significant portion of our budget allocated to this sector. Everyone has the right to play football, and as the AFA, we support anyone who wants to be part of this sport. I want to remind you that mass participation is a challenge that requires the contribution of each of us, including yours, to be at the forefront of sports developments in the country.
The long-term challenges and goals include the construction of a regional center for the entire area. Every difficulty should be used as an opportunity to create new possibilities, including partnerships for important projects, securing sponsors, and creating other spaces to maximize the use of these resources in the service of football. With the support of each one of us, the association must strengthen cooperation with local authorities, aiming not only to develop collaboration but also to ensure that this cooperation serves the football community. Every municipality, according to its priorities, can offer opportunities for projects and calls that support football: let’s see them as opportunities to strengthen and develop this sport in this region,”-said the member of the Executive Committee, Abdyl Kuriu.
Kristian Gjidodaj, after being re-elected as president of SHRF Lezhë, expressed his gratitude for the trust and support he received from the association members. He highlighted that this mandate is a great responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to the development and advancement of football in the region.
Gjidodaj added that he will continue working on the development of football, supporting clubs, and creating new opportunities for young talents.
“First of all, I want to thank each one of you for the trust and support you have given me by re-electing me as the President of the Regional Football Association of Lezhë. This is an important moment for me and for the entire football community in our region. This mandate is not only a great responsibility but also an opportunity to contribute to the development and progress of football in our region.
I understand the importance of this position and I am committed to bringing improvements and working transparently and openly with all our clubs and members. I have full confidence that together we will be able to face the challenges and achieve our objectives. We will continue to work for the development of football, to support our clubs, and to create new opportunities for young talents,” -said the President of the Regional Football Association of Lezhë, Kristian Gjidodaj.
During the assembly, the members of the Regional Football Association of Lezhë, through voting, approved the financial statements and the budget for the year 2025. Delegates who will represent SHRFL at the General Assembly of the AFA were also elected, as proposed by the membership. After the voting of SHRFL members, Kristian Gjidodaj and Prek Pjetrushi were chosen as delegates.
Additionally, all members voted in favor of the emblem change, approving a new, more modern and simpler version.
