Apolonia, Egnatia, Tirana and Kinostudio are the four semifinalist teams of the 16th edition of the Albanian Women’s Cup. In a completely new format, the teams were divided into three groups based on their rankings from the first phase of the championship. Over the weekend and today, the last three matches in each group were played, determing semifinalist teams.
Apolonia secured its spot in the semifinals after finishin first in Group A. Despite being level on points with Partizani and Gramshi, the team from Fier advanced thanks to a better goals difference. In today’s match, Partizani defeated Apolonia 4 – 3, a win that didn’t help the reds progress to the next stage.
Egnatia advanced to the semifinals by topping group B with 6 points. Kinostudio finished second with 3 points, while Laçi came third with 0 points.
Meanwhile, Tirana also secured a spot among the top four. The capital city team finished first in Group C with 6 points, while Lushnja and Teuta shared second and third place with 1 point each.
Kinostudio also qualified for the semifinals as the best second-placed team across the three groups, thanks to their superior goal difference.
A free draw will determine the semifinal matchups between the four qualified teams. The matches will be played over two legs, home and away.
