The Albanian Football Asociation is part of the European project “HAND IN HAND,” an initiative aimed at combating violence against women through sport. The project’s kickoff meeting was held at the EuroHockey headquarters in Brussels, with the participation of all international partners.
The project is implemented in collaboration with Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), the European Hockey Federation, Balgarski Sportein Inovatsionen Hab, the Albanian Football Asociation, Association Française De Hockey Sur Gazon, Association Alice Milliat, and Formodena.
“HAND IN HAND” aims to use sport as a tool to counter gender-based violence by promoting a culture of respect and equality. The goal is to transform sports environments into educational spaces where young people, especially boys, can develop clear values of respect toward women and oppose all forms of violence or discrimination.
During the meeting, the project’s organizational structure was presented, and the establishment of governing bodies was discussed. In particular, the three main committees were introduced: the Steering Committee (project management board), the Scientific Committee, and the Media Committee.
The partners also defined the main implementation guidelines of the project, including the management, development, and communication of activities. Special attention was given to coach training and the involvement of all national teams, including futsal and beach soccer, viewing sport as a powerful instrument for education and social change.
