The Albanian Football Association continues its search for talents in the diaspora, with the ‘Open Stage’ event set to take place in New York on 27 June

Talent identification and recruitment of Albanian players living and playing abroad remains one of the main priorities of the Albanian Football Association. Continuing its ongoing efforts to expand the pool of national team players, the AFA will organize an “Open Stage” event in the United States on 27 June.

The activity will take place at the “Hudson Sports Complex” in Warwick, New York, and will be led by former Albanian national team defender Ansi Agolli, along with representatives of the AFA.

Applications remain open for all interested participants who wish to take part.

The “Open Stage” will give Albanian footballers born in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 who are active in the United States and Canada the opportunity to showcase their potential. The aim of this initiative is to identify, evaluate, and closely monitor talented diaspora players, with the goal of bringing them closer to the national youth teams.

In recent years, the AFA has expanded its connections with Albanian communities abroad, organizing activities and scouting events in various countries where footballers of Albanian origin live and compete.

Special attention will also be given to women’s football. All Albanian female players active in the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to participate in this event, without age restrictions, creating another important opportunity for talent identification and closer integration with the national teams.
