Today in Belgrade, Serbia, was held the 49th Congress of UEFA, where important decisions were made regarding the development of European football. The Congress was attended by key figures in world football, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino and many other well-known personalities.
The Delegation consisted of the AFA president, Armand Duka, the AFA Vice President, Lufti Nuri, General Secretary of the AFA, Ilir Shulku, and the AFA Administrative Directorate, Aldi Topçiu. Meanwhile, also present was a delegation from Kosovo, consisting of the President of the FFK, Agim Ademi, and the General Secretary of the FFK, Markus Weidner.
The congress was led by the President of UEFA, Aleksander Čeferin, who, during his speech, delivered important messages to the world, emphasizing football as a tool for unity and inspiration.
He used the “Germany 2024” European Championship as an example, emphasizing that where politics divides, football builds bridges.
Additionally, President Čeferin mentioned the joint hosting of the U-21 European Championship 2027 by Albania and Serbia as a great reminder that there are no borders in European football. He urged everyone to leave behind the histories of the past and work together to build a better future.
“European football must continue to stand as a model of unity in this world that is becoming more and more divided. We unite and inspire. It is our mission, and we are fully committed to it.
European Championship 2024: From the electrifying atmosphere in the stadiums to the millions of fans it inspired around the world, EURO 2024 reminded us that where politics divides, football builds bridges. We were not divided but worked together to showcase the greatest social movement in Europe.
Football is more than just a sport: it is a reflection and a model of society. It speaks a universal language that transcends borders, unites communities, and inspires dreams. For this reason, we see the EURO U-21 2027 final tournament, which will be held in Albania and Serbia, as a great reminder that there are no borders in European football.
