The Albanian mini-football national team has qualified for the Round of 16 at the Socca World Cup 2024. The Red and Blacks achieved their most important victory today, defeating group leaders Mexico 3-1. The match was dominated by Irtan Sejko’s squad, who scored three spectacular goals. Armand Gapi, Guido Tepshi, and Endrit Kaca were the goal scorers for Albania.
Coach Irtan Sejko started the match against Mexico with the following lineup: Kejd Myrta (GK), Joanc Duqi, Endrit Kaca, Mehmet Hoxha, Erald Leci, and Giovanni Hoxha.
After much persistence, the Albanian team broke the deadlock in injury time during the first half. Armand Gapi, after recovering a ball in midfield, calmly finished past the Mexican goalkeeper. The second goal came from a beautiful combination between Kaca and Tepshi, with the latter scoring a stunning strike to double Albania’s lead.
Albania added a third goal, with Endrit Kaca capitalizing on the Mexican goalkeeper’s advanced position and scoring with a beautiful shot to seal Albania’s qualification for the Round of 16. Mexico managed to score a late goal, but it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome.
In the Round of 16, Albania will face Belgium.
