The Fier Regional Football Association (SHRF Fier) held today the proceedings of its 2026 Electoral General Assembly.
Present at the meeting were 28 members of the association, represented by 39 delegates, who discussed the items set out on the agenda. These included the association’s activity report, approval of the financial statements, approval of the budget for 2026, the proposal of candidacies for President and members of the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association, the election of the President, as well as the election of delegates who will represent SHRF Fier at the AFA General Assembly.
One of the most important items on the agenda was the election of the President of SHRF Fier for the next four-year term.
The Verification Commission, the body responsible for organizing the electoral process, declared that only one candidacy had been submitted for the position of President, specifically the request for re-candidacy by Mr. Ilias Haxhiraj.
The Electoral General Assembly of the Fier Regional Football Association unanimously decided to elect Mr. Ilias Haxhiraj as President of SHRF Fier for a four (4)-year mandate.
Following his re-election at the head of SHRF Fier, Ilias Haxhiraj thanked the members for the trust placed in him and emphasized the importance of continuity, cooperation, and the sustainable development of football in the region.
“First of all, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to each of you for the trust and support you have shown me by re-electing me as President of the Fier Regional Football Association. This recognition you grant me today is a great honor for me and a responsibility that I take on with the utmost seriousness.
This moment is important not only for me personally, but also for the entire football community in our region. My re-election for this mandate represents the continuity of a joint effort built on trust, cooperation, and a clear vision for the future of football.
The mandate you have just entrusted to me is not merely a leadership role, but a valuable opportunity to continue contributing to the development, organization, and improvement of football at all levels. I am fully aware of the weight of this position and I assure you that I will continue to work with dedication, integrity, and transparency, in open cooperation with all clubs, academies, and members of our Association.
I have full confidence that, by remaining united, we will be able to face every challenge ahead and achieve the objectives we have set for ourselves. Our priority will remain the sustainable development of football, concrete support for our clubs, and the creation of new conditions and opportunities for the discovery and development of young talents,” said Ilias Haxhiraj.
During the Assembly proceedings, the association’s activity report, financial statements, and the budget for 2026 were also approved, as well as the delegates who will represent SHRF Fier at the AFA General Assembly. These delegates are: Ilias Haxhiraj, Muharrem Jazaj, and Judmir Gaxheli.
All members of SHRF Fier voted to propose Mr. Armand Duka as a candidate for the position of President of the Albanian Football Association. Meanwhile, Ms. Anila Basha was voted as a candidate for membership in the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association. She is the first woman elected to the AFA Executive Committee in 2022 and has made a valuable contribution, particularly to the development, growth, and support of women’s football in recent years, delivering tangible positive results in terms of participation numbers.
