The Electoral General Assembly of the Elbasan Regional Football Association was held today, with the participation of 22 member clubs of the association. The meeting took place at the “Elbasan Arena” stadium and was attended by 29 delegates out of a total of 32, who discussed and approved the main items on the agenda, the most important of which was the election of the President of SHRF Elbasan for the next four-year term.
The Verification Commission, the body responsible for organizing the electoral process, announced that only one candidacy for President had been submitted—specifically, the request for re-nomination by Mr. Ilirjan File, proposed by 21 member clubs of the association.
Following the vote, the Electoral General Assembly of the Elbasan Regional Football Association, with full unanimity, decided to elect Mr. Ilirjan File as President of SHRF Elbasan for a four-year mandate.
In his remarks following the re-election, the President of SHRF Elbasan, Ilirjan File, thanked everyone for their trust and support, emphasizing that he will continue working toward the development of football, support for clubs, and the creation of new opportunities for young talents.
“First of all, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the trust and support you have shown by re-electing me as President of the Elbasan Regional Football Association. This is an important moment for me and for the entire football community in our region.
This mandate is not only a great responsibility, but also an opportunity to contribute to the development and progress of football in our region. I understand the importance of this position and I am committed to bringing improvements and to working transparently and openly with all our clubs and members.
I am fully confident that together we will be able to overcome challenges and achieve our objectives. We will continue to work for the development of football, for the support of our clubs, and for the creation of new opportunities for young talents,” said Ilirjan File.
During the Assembly proceedings, the financial statements and the 2026 budget were approved, and the delegates to the General Assembly of the Albanian Football Association were elected: Mr. Ilirjan File, Mr. Julian Cota, and Mr. Anxhelo Suta.
The agenda also included proposals for candidates for President of the AFA and for members of the Executive Committee. The members of the association proposed Mr. Armand Duka as a candidate for President of the AFA, who was unanimously approved by all members during the Assembly proceedings.
In addition, the members of the association are entitled to propose one candidate for member of the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association. The General Assembly of the Elbasan Regional Football Association decided to approve the proposal of Mr. Abdyl Kuriu as a candidate for member of the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association.
