Ahead of the restart of the football season’s second half, referees, assistant referees, and observers of the Albanian First Division successfully completed their mid-season physical and theoretical assessments. The tests were conducted according to established standards, and the officials performed at a high level, both in terms of theoretical knowledge and practical, physical performance.
At the same time, the winter seminar was held, focusing on discussions of various match situations, updating participants on the competition regulations, and the VAR system.
The event also featured FIFA instructor Carlos Clos Gomez, who shared his expertise and experience with Albanian referees and instructors. His presence provided an important opportunity to analyze game situations and unify refereeing criteria, in line with European and international standards.
Speaking to fshf.org, Carlos Clos Gomez highlighted the importance of this activity for Albanian referees:
“Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I am here to collaborate with FSHF. As a FIFA instructor, I will share my insights with the referees and instructors here. I believe this is a great moment to analyze situations, not only for Albanian competitions but also for European competitions, so that we can be more consistent across competitions worldwide,” said Carlos Gomez.
He added:
“It is important for them to hear the opinion of the instructor and of anyone working in the Refereeing Committee. A seminar like this works very well in sharing opinions and improving, not only from a technical standpoint but also physically. I believe these objectives have been fully achieved.”
