The president of AFA, Armand Duka received in the premises of AFA in a friendly meeting the ambassador of Turkey in Albania, Mr. Murat Ahmet Yoruk. The topic of discussion between ambassador Yoruk, President Duka and General Secretary Ilir Shulku was further football cooperation. The head of AFA thanked the ambassador of Turkey for the efforts and support for the developing of football in Albania; ‘’AFA has always had excellent relations with its Turkish counterparts, and the actual leaders of the Turkish Football Association. Our levels of cooperation can further expand in many fields, mainly in exchanging experiences in technical education for coaches, creating opportunities for Turkish lectors in Albania, through the courses organized by the Coach School in Albania, for their education and licensing. Also it was discussed for common initiatives for social project in assist of people in need, welcoming and implementing every idea and concrete project that we will have’’-declared President Duka.
Meanwhile, the ambassador of Turkey in Albania expressed his maximal commitment and was opened for every draft proposal :
‘’A memorandum of understanding between the two associations, but even the cooperation regarding the national teams and clubs will be in the focus of my priorities. I am updated with the developments and the progress of football in Albania. I believe that together we will open many fields of cooperation‘’-stressed Mr. Yoruk.
Soon both associations will conclude a cooperation agreement, with the Turkish ambassador throwing the idea of creation of different tournaments with the presence of famous football teams from Turkey. At the conclusion of the meeting, a personalized jersey of the Albanian national team was given to ambassador Yoruk, who expressed his desire to attend the friendly match against Norway, on 26 March in ‘’Elbasan Arena’’.
