The President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, made a historic visit to the municipality of Bujanoc as part of the children’s football tournament taking place in the Presheva Valley with the support of AFA.
During the visit, President Duka was accompanied by AFA Executive Committee member Anila Basha and Albania’s Ambassador to Serbia, Bardhyl Canaj. They were warmly welcomed in a meeting by the Mayor of Bujanoc, Arbër Pajaziti, with representatives of the local Albanian football clubs “Tërnoci” and “Besa” also in attendance, along with members of the local media.
In the meeting, President Duka was briefed on the current state of football in the area and the needs for further development. Requests were made for AFA support in increasing training capacity for coaches and providing material resources for clubs, with a key focus placed on improving sports infrastructure in the community.
President Duka reaffirmed AFA’s commitment to continuing its support for similar tournaments in the future, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives for youth engagement and grassroots football development.
Mayor Arbër Pajaziti expressed gratitude to AFA for its tangible contribution to organizing the event, calling it a valuable sporting and social initiative that strengthens cooperation and unity through sport.
During the meeting, the role of national team captain Berat Gjimshiti—originally from Tërnoci—was also highlighted, describing him as an inspirational figure for children in the Presheva Valley who dream of pursuing a career in football.
