The President of the Football Association, Armand Duka, has been honored by the news agency Presheva Jonë with the special recognition “Skanderbeg’s Helmet,” in appreciation of his ongoing contribution to supporting Albanian children and youth who play football in the Preševo Valley.
This recognition was awarded to President Duka as a sign of respect for his commitment, and that of the Albanian Football Association, to creating equal opportunities for Albanians in Preševo, Bujanovac, and Medveđa through football—as a means of inclusion, development, and strengthening community identity.
The support of the Albanian Football Association for this community has long been made tangible through the “My Jersey” and “Your Ball” projects, thanks to which around 300 Albanian children of all age groups, who are part of clubs and sports associations in the Preševo Valley, have been provided with free basic equipment this season. In addition, during the summer period, the AFA also contributed to the organization of a football tournament in Preševo, providing material and financial support.
This honor represents clear evidence of the active role of President Duka and the Albanian Football Association in using football as an instrument of unity and social development, standing alongside Albanians wherever they live and promoting values that go beyond sport.
