The President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, congratulated the women’s team of Vllaznia, which was crowned champion of Albania. In a message published in his ‘’Facebook’’ profile, President Duka praised the historic achievement of the girls from Shkodra, being crowned champion for the 7th year in a row, and the excellent representation in UEFA Women’s Champions League last year.
‘’I want to congratulate the team of Vllaznia, for winning the champion title in women’s football for the seventh year in a row! A historic achievement of a team that is writing the history of women’s football, making a great representation and at the same time, delivering strong emotions in the field.
I want to mention the fact that Vllaznia has made us proud, especially in the international competitions, setting a record for the women’s football last year, after passing the eliminatory round and reaching 1/32 round of UEFA Women’s Champions League’’- wrote President Duka, underlining that Vllaznia has turned into a focus point for those girls who want to play football.
‘’Despite this, I highly praise the fact that Vllaznia has turned into a symbol for many Albanian women and this should be taken as an example even from other clubs. It is also a source of inspiration for investing even more for the women’s football, a key priority set by the Albanian Football Association for the future. Once again I want to congratulate Vllaznia, the coaches and the technical staff and I hope that in the future, the number of women who want to play football will be increased.
