3 May is a historic day for all the Albanian football. On May 3 2016, Kosovo became a full member of UEFA, during the 40th Congress held in Budapest. The dream of many generations became a reality, thanks to many years of work of the late president Mr. Fadil Vokrri, who worked since day one when Kosovo became independent, to make the youngest state in Europe part of FIFA and UEFA in order to pave the way for even bigger developments.
In this historic day of Kosovo and the entire Albanian football, the President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, in the name of the entire football community in the country, congratulated Kosovo’s Association through an official letter.

In the fourth anniversary of the acceptance of Kosovo in UEFA, I have the honor and the pleasure to deliver my personal congratulations and of all the members of the football family in Albania, for this historic day for Kosovo.
The dream of many generations in Kosovo is now a reality. For four years now Kosovo is part of the European family as a full right member. The great work done by President Vokrri and you made Kosovo receive the deserved place in the panorama of European football. This achievement makes us proud and we are optimistic that we will have a shiny future ahead, with wins and successes that will give us joy and satisfaction.
Our friendly and institutional relations are and will be at the highest levels of cooperation. Together we will develop important projects for the growth of Albanian football.
