UEFA inaugurated its new representative office in Istanbul today, marking a significant expansion of its global presence. This becomes UEFA’s third international office, after those in London and Brussels, and it will play a strategic role in the preparations for the “Turkey-Italy 2032” European Championship.
The ceremony took place in a festive atmosphere in the Turkish city and was attended by prominent figures from the world of football and politics. Among those present was the President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, along with other key figures such as the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, members of the UEFA Executive Committee, and leaders of various European football federations.
In his speech, President Čeferin highlighted the importance of the new office, emphasizing the crucial role it will play in organizing the 2032 European Championship finals. “We want to share our experience, which is why we decided to open an office here in collaboration with the Turkish Football Federation. Our goal is clear: to make the 2032 European Championship in Turkey and Italy the best ever,” said the head of European football, also praising Turkey’s organizational capabilities in hosting major football events.
