Today, the head of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, inspected the works at the new stadium ‘’ National Arena’’, a construction site where the voluminous work phases are part of the implementation of the giant project, which is being constructed over site previously occupied by the legendary stadium ‘’Qemal Stafa’’. As foreseen, ‘’National Arena’’ will be ready on autumn 2018, a statement stressed by President Duka himself: ‘’ We are thrilled with the continuation of works and by the end of 2018 this stadium will be ready for the matches. We couldn’t win the right to organize the European SuperCup 2019 because our project was only on paper. The stadium will be beautiful, a big asset for Albanian spots, and what is most important for Albania, a great treasure for football itself’’.
Meanwhile, the architect of the stadium Marco Casamonti spoke for the media: ‘’ We are happy with the works, it will be something beautiful. It will be a pleasure for every fan to attend the matches in a completely covered stadium and will have the chance to be close to the field. It will be like a theatre.
