The Albanian Football Association has commenced work at the Air Albania Stadium, an important infrastructure project that forms part of the preparations for hosting the UEFA European Under-21 Championship Finals in 2027, with Albania serving as one of the two host nations.
The project includes improvements to the pitch foundation and the installation of a new hybrid grass surface, in line with the highest standards required by UEFA for international matches.
This investment is part of the Albanian Football Association’s ongoing commitment to modernising the country’s sports infrastructure and ensuring optimal conditions for the organisation of major football events. The upgrade of the national stadium’s playing surface will provide an even higher standard of play for participating teams and an improved experience for supporters.
Hosting UEFA EURO U-21 2027 represents a historic milestone for Albanian football and an important opportunity to promote the country on the international stage. In this context, the Albanian Football Association continues its work to meet all organisational and infrastructure requirements set by UEFA.
