The Football Association opened yesterday its annual selection session for young Albanian football players who live and play in Europe and around the world. Participants in this Open Stage selection were boys born in 2007.
Around 90 young footballers took part in 5 matches held at the “House of Football” and were observed by national team coaches, the Technical Directorate staff, and the scouting manager at the AFA, Ardi Behari. The invited talents were engaged in physical tests and friendly matches.
Meanwhile, on December 4, the Open Stage phase will take place for players born in 2008, on December 5 for those born in 2009, and for players born in 2010/2011 on December 10. Over 450 young footballers living abroad have registered to participate in these selections.
This annual initiative by the Football Association gives young talents the opportunity to showcase their skills and helps the National Team’s Technical staff evaluate and identify players with potential to contribute to the National Team.
