Albania’s Women National Team played this evening the second match against Czechia, in the Nations League edition. In their visit in the Czechia, the red and black girls, led by their coach were defeated with a 5-1 scoreline.
Coach Grima fielded the following starting eleven: Viona Rexhepi (GK), Armera Tukaj, Arbenita Curraj, Fortesa Berisha, Valentina Troka, Qëndresa Krasniqi, Megi Doçi, Ezmiralda Franja, Ilarja Zarko, Klea Hamonikaj, Alma Hilaj.
The match started very well for the red and black national team, as they took the lead in the 16th minute, but the goal was disallowed by the main referee. However, the team was determined to go ahead, and the breakthrough came in the 24th minute when captain Megi Doçi converted a penalty into a goal.
The lead lasted only a few minutes, as the hosts equalized through Svitková in the 34th minute. It was Svitková again who scored the second goal for the Czechs seven minutes later, while Bartonová made it 3-1 in the 41st minute. The first half ended with a 3-1 advantage for the Czech team, a result that dealt a psychological blow to the red and black squad.
The Czech team scored two more goals in the 60th and 62nd minutes, extending the lead to 5-1. Despite their efforts, our team was unable to change the course of the match, which ended with the same scoreline.
This was Albania’s second match in Group B4. The red and black girls currently sit in third place in the group.
