The Albanian women’s national team achieved a great victory at “Loro Boriçi,” defeating Croatia with a dominant 4-0. In the match, which was part of UEFA Nations League B, goals were scored by Fortesa Berisha, Alma Hilaj, Megi Doçi, and Klea Hamonikaj.
Coach Armir Grima started the match with the following starting lineup: Viona Rexhepi (GK), Arbenita Curraj, Arbiona Bajraktari, Fortesa Berisha, Valentina Troka, Qëndresa Krasniqi, Megi Doçi (C), Ezmiralda Franja, Ilarja Zarko, Klea Hamonikaj, and Alma Hilaj.
The girls started the match very well, taking the lead in the 14th minute with a goal from Fortesa Berisha.
Albania didn’t slow down and, in the 24th minute, scored the second goal with Alma Hilaj, following an assist from Megi Doçi. The first half ended with a 2-0 score.
In the second half, our team managed the game well and continued to create danger. The third goal came in the 72nd minute, when captain Megi Doçi scored with a powerful shot from outside the box.
In this match, coach Grima also made substitutions, bringing on Antigona Hyska, Armela Tukaj, Kristina Maksutin, Djellza Istrefaj, and Mikaela Metalla.
At the end of the match, Albania scored the fourth goal with Klea Hamonikaj, who took advantage of a mistake by the Croatian goalkeeper and sent the ball into the net.
The match ended with a fantastic 4-0 victory for Albania.
The Albanian women’s team will play their next match in Group B4 against Croatia again, this time away. The game will be held on April 8th at the “Sport Centre Rudes” at 16:00.
