The Albanian Football Association has been officially notified by FIFA of a disciplinary decision following the Albania–Serbia match, held on June 7, 2025, at the “Air Albania” stadium.
According to the decision, AFA is fined 161,500 Swiss francs and is required to hold the next home match against Latvia with at least 20% of the stadium capacity closed to the public. This sanction is due to repeated inappropriate and discriminatory behavior by a portion of Albanian fans (discriminatory songs, throwing objects, lighting fireworks, use of inappropriate gestures or messages during a sporting event, as well as interruptions during the national anthems).
This decision is a serious penalty for the entire football community and harms not only the Association but, above all, the National Team. AFA calls on all National Team supporters to avoid any actions that could harm our team, to respect international rules, and to contribute to a dignified atmosphere in support of Albania.
