The licensing process for 2019-2020 ends

The Licensing Sector of the Albanian Football Association announces that the process of licensing of the clubs for the UEFA competitions (UEFA Champions League – UEFA Europa League – UEFA Youth League) and AFA has terminated.

As it was previously informed, this process started in December 2018. The applying clubs were contacted by the Licensing Sector and at the same time, bilateral workshops were held during January and February 2019, organized by AFA.

Also the applicant clubs were assisted and monitored during this period by AFA (especially in fulfilling the financial obligations). The clubs handed the required documentation for the five criteria of UEFA and FIFA to the Licensing Manager, in order to conclude this process.

1- Sports Criteria 2- Infrastructure Criteria 3- Administration and Personnel Criteria 4- Legal Criteria and 5- Financial Criteria, with the latter being the most important one.

The entire documentation that the applying clubs for the UEFA competitions handed over in AFA during April 2019 was put in the hands of the experts of every criteria that made their appraisal and drew the relevant conclusions. The license application for participating in the European competitions was completed by nine clubs of the Superior Category, with FC Kamza being the only one which didn’t apply. By the beginning of May 2019, based on the documentation that he applying clubs handed over to the Licensing Sector, the Commission gave their decision regarding the refusal or acceptance for the licensing of the clubs.

All the decisions taken by the Licensing Commission were communication to the applicant clubs.

We inform to those who are interested that during June 2019, the Licensing Commissions will consider all the documentation deposited by the clubs which have applied for a license in participating in the competitions of AFA (Superior Category, First and Second Category).
