Kukesi won the 8th edition of the ‘’Independence Cup’’. This annual event organized by the Albanian Football Association in the framework of Independence Day , was held in the “Selman Stermasi “ stadium in Tirana, with the participation of the teams – ‘’Otrant’ from Ulcinj , “Shkendija” from Tetovo , Prishtina and Kukesi.
In semi-finals, Prishtina defeated Otranto , 1-0 , meanwhile Kukesi won 3-1 the team Shkendija from Tetovo. The team of Ernest Gjoka triumphed in the final match, defeating Prishtina 0-2 , thanks to the goals of Moriera and Lushtaku. Both teams received their respective medals, and three more awards were given for the winner of the competition, the best player and the ‘Fair Play’ team.
