The Albanian Football Association held on Friday an international workshop entitled ‘’Sports law and arbitration: a practical perspective on selected legal issues’’, a bold initiative of the Judicial Sector, to come in aid to the professionals of the Sports Law. The workshop was composed of 4 discussion panels, where experienced lawyers, judges of CAS and judicial and disciplinary directors of UEFA discussed about the related issues.
In his welcoming speech at the start of this activity, the President of AFA, Armand Duka thanked the organizers Dr. BlerinaXheraj and Aldi Topçiu, the representatives of the clubs, lawyers and the participating directors of UEFA and the referees of CAS Lausanne.
‘’ I am thrilled to be part of this event, that was immediately approved, seeing the importance of sports justice on only on football but for all sports in
Albania. According to our opinion, the intellectual, judicial and capacity level of Albania regarding maximal sports justice is incomplete. That is why we organized this international workshop in order to exchange ideas. No one comes to teach but to exchange their personal experiences. This won’t be the only workshop or event, other activities will follow. I would like to thank the lawyer that covered Albania and the Albanian Football Association for an important matter that in a way made possible our presence in EURO 2016, Dr. Antonio Rigozzi’’.
This workshop aims to bring at AFA and not only, the latest developments in the field of sport’s law and legal practices according to the most successful European models through the experience and practice of important names such as Angelo Rigopoulos, Jacques Bondallaz, Jacopo Tognon, Laura Mçallum dhe Antonio Rigozzi.
