The General Assembly of the Lezhë Regional Football Association (SHRF Lezhë) held its session today, during which important decisions were made regarding the association’s activities and operations.
The meeting was attended by 13 member clubs, represented by 20 delegates, who discussed and approved the items on the agenda. The discussions focused on the association’s activity report, approval of financial statements, the 2026 budget, proposals for candidates for President and members of the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association, as well as the election of delegates to represent SHRF Lezhë at the FSHF General Assembly.
During the Assembly, SHRF Lezhë President Kristjan Gjidodaj delivered a welcoming speech, thanking the members, FSHF representatives, and local authorities for their continued support. He highlighted that in 2025, the association significantly increased the number of teams and players, currently totaling 78 teams and around 1,500 players in the Lezhë district.
The organization of championships for all age groups from U9 to U17, along with projects such as “Playmaker,” “Topi Yt,” and “Uniforma ime,” has boosted participation and interest from parents and football enthusiasts. Regional representatives have been regularly selected and trained, while the Referees’ College has grown by 60%, improving the quality of matches.
President Gjidodaj emphasized the importance of developing girls’ football and improving sports infrastructure. Coach licensing with C and B Licenses will take place this season in Lezhë in cooperation with the FSHF. He also praised the functioning of the SHRF Lezhë regional office as a key element for coordinating amateur football and engaging children in sport.
Following the discussions, the assembly voted to approve the activity report, financial statements, and 2026 budget. Delegates to represent SHRF Lezhë at the AFA General Assembly were also elected: Kristjan Gjidodaj and Ardian Laska.
The members of SHRF Lezhë unanimously proposed and voted for Mr. Armand Duka as a candidate for President of the Albanian Football Association. Meanwhile, journalist, author, and host of the program “Opinion,” Mr. Blendi Fevziu, was elected as a candidate for member of the AFA Executive Committee.
