The Albanian Football Association, in collaboration with the Tirana Regional Football Association (SHRF), the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, and the Tirana Local Education Office (ZVA), will organize the “High School Cup”, a tournament aimed at promoting football and sports activities among young people.
At the House of Football, an informational meeting was held with representatives of Tirana’s high schools, who were introduced to the project and the way the activity will be organized. During the meeting, the objectives of the tournament were presented, as well as the importance of engaging youth in sports activities.
The “High School Cup” is expected to start at the end of April and will take place on the synthetic turf pitch at the House of Football. In this first edition, teams from 8 high schools in Tirana will participate, and the matches will be played in a knockout system.
This activity is organized to promote sport, fair play, cooperation, and an active lifestyle among young people, creating an inclusive environment where students can engage in sport, interact with each other, and develop physical and social skills.
Another goal of this project is to increase the number of young people playing amateur football and to transform this initiative into a seasonal competition starting from the 2026–2027 season, with the aim of involving as many schools as possible.
