The Technical Director Course, organized by the Albanian Football Association welcomed its first guest speaker of the year, Maurizio Viscidi, who currently serves as the Technical Coordinator of Italy’s Youth National Teams at FIGC.
During the seminar, Viscidi emphasized the importance of developing a structured methodology for youth teams, the coordination of strategies between the two associations, and shared his extensive experience with course participants.
Speaking to fshf.org, Viscidi underlined the crucial role of talent development in building successful national teams.
“It is a great pleasure to be invited here by the President of the Albanian Football Association and my friend Fulvio Pea. There is an excellent relationship between our two associations, and even our presidents are close friends. Meeting with coaches means discussing football, methodology, and, more specifically, youth development. If we want stronger and more competitive national teams, we must invest in the youth sector.”
Furthermore, he highlighted the need to adapt football training programs to reflect changes in the sport’s playing style and broader societal shifts.
“The way of life has changed. In the past, football was played spontaneously in the streets and was the dominant sport. Now, the social and economic landscape has evolved, both in Italy and even more so in Albania. That’s why we must adapt and plan talent development strategically to build successful national teams. This meeting was an opportunity to understand our working methods, compare them with yours, and establish a unified training methodology.”
Viscidi’s insights provided valuable guidance for the future of youth football development in Albania.
