The Albanian U-19 women’s national team won their first match in Group B1 against Montenegro with a 2-1 scoreline, in the first round of the qualifiers for the 2025 UEFA European Championship for this age group.
The Albanian girls dominated the match at the “Arena Kombetare,” and the winning goals were scored by Adela Qose and Xhesika Ndoj.
Head coach Luçije Gjini started the match against Montenegro with the following starting lineup: Rajmonda Spahiu (GK), Anxhela Nika, Klea Alushi, Xhesika Ndoj (C), Klesta Ago, Rosela Vasa, Bora Bushati, Kristina Hoxhaj, Adela Qose, Era Methoxha, and Stela Vata.
Albania managed the game well, being cautious in defense during the opening minutes. The team broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a beautiful goal from Adela Qose. The first half ended 1-0.
The second half did not start well for Albania, as Montenegro equalized in the 48th minute with a goal from Nada Doknić.
Coach Luçije Gjini made her first substitution in the 56th minute, bringing on Rigela Hysa for Bora Bushati.
Albania regained the lead in the 68th minute with captain Xhesika Ndoj, who scored with a shot from inside the box to beat the opposing goalkeeper.
The Albanian girls continued to dominate until the end of the match, though they missed several good scoring opportunities. In the end, the match finished with a 2-1 victory for Albania.
In the other match in Group B1, Belarus U-19 faced Moldova U-19, with the Belarusian girls winning 10-0 in a match played at the Football House. The absolute protagonist of the match was midfielder Anastasiya Kavaliova, who scored seven goals — three in the first half and four in the second half — while the other three goals were scored by Veranika Kaliuta.
On November 30, Albania will play their second group match against Moldova at 13:30, while on December 3, they will face Belarus in the final match of this round, also at 13:30.
