Portugal secured their place in the final after beating Italy in the semifinal following penalty kicks, with a score of 4-3.
Regular time ended in a 2-2 draw and the match was decided by penalties, where the Portuguese were more accurate.
Italy started the match better and took the lead in the 20th minute with Samuele Inacio. Portugal equalized after eight minutes with Stevan Manuel and the first half ended 1-1.
In the second half, Italy regained the lead in the 59th minute with Alessio Baralla, but Portugal reacted again and equalized with Tomas Soares in the 67th minute.
Since the score did not change until the end, the teams went to penalties, where the Portuguese goalkeeper was decisive with his saves, gifting Portugal the qualification to the big final against France.
