Egnatia won the Albanian Supercup for the first time in its history, defeating Kukësi 2-0 in the final played this evening at the “Arena Kombëtare” stadium.
The goals for Egnatia were scored by Serxho Ujka and Soumaila Bakayoko.
Egnatia started the match with the following lineup: Ilir Dobjan (GK), Albano Aleksi, Regi Lushkja, Soumaila Bakayoko, Renato Malota (C), Edison Ndreca, Arbin Zejnullai, Arbenit Xhemajli, Rezart Rama, Serxho Ujka, and Abdurraman Fangaj.
Kukësi started with the following lineup: Amarildo Dervishaj (GK), Erest Lamellari, Abiodun Basit Yusuf, Albi Matani, Mario Berishaj (C), Francesko Hasaj, Abdulkadir Abubakar Nasir, Xhuljan Kapllanaj, Redon Dragoshi, Geri Selita, and Redon Danaj.
Egnatia dominated the match from the beginning and, after several good chances, managed to break the deadlock with Serxho Ujka’s goal in the 20th minute. The first half ended 1-0.
In the second half, the match became very exciting. Kukësi wasted several good opportunities, with captain Beshiraj missing key chances. However, Egnatia sealed the victory with a second goal in the 85th minute from Soumaila Bakayoko. The match ended 2-0 in favor of Egnatia.
The Vice President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), Lutfi Nuri, handed out the medals to both teams and awarded the Supercup trophy to Egnatia.
