Director Pea explains the innovations of the new season for the Regional Centers & the TDS project

For the upcoming season, the Albanian Football Association will maintain the same technical structure for the important activities taking place in the Regional Centers and the TDS project.

FSHF’s Technical Director, Fulvio Pea, gave a statement to fshf.org, where he spoke about the new features of the season and introduced the new names joining the technical staff.

“Next year as well, the Regional Centers will have two teams—one for players born in 2013 and a new team for those born in 2014. The selection will take place in September by our youth team coaches, who will oversee the trials and select the 23 best players for each age group (2013 and 2014) in each Regional Center,” stated Mr. Pea.

“Around 95% of the coaches have been confirmed again, thanks to the excellent work led by our Technical Coordinator, Erjon Stavri, as well as the commitment and professionalism shown by the 8 Technical Directors of the Centers, and the outstanding work of the coaches who have followed AFA’s methodology. They have all been offered to continue this season as well,” the AFA Technical Director confirmed.

“In the coming season, there will be 2 goalkeeping coaches, coordinated by Erion Meta, head of the goalkeeping department: Baholli for the northern region and Halilaj for the southern region. Together with Erjon Stavri, they will attend the teams’ training sessions every Monday. We know very well that the goalkeeper’s role is very specific, which is why we’ve decided to increase monitoring — for both coaches and players. So, every Monday at each Regional Center, we will conduct visits to technically monitor and assess the growth of each child,” he added further

“Within the activities of the Regional Centers, we also have the TDS project. Next year, we have an innovation — actually, two. First, we’ve added a new figure, Cyme Lulaj, in the role of Technical Coordinator. Following the guidance of Erjon Stavri, he will visit each city and Regional Center every Monday to oversee training sessions,” explained Fulvio Pea.

“The second innovation is that next year, for the first time, all eight Regional Centers will form a team. This is a beautiful development that makes us proud. Apart from Tirana, which has a larger population than the other cities, the other cities will each have two teams: one team for the 2012/13 age group and one team for 2014,” he concluded.
