At the end of the “Abissnet Superiore” championship, it results that the KF Bylis team is ranked in 9th place and is relegated to the First Category. At the same time, KF Bylis B has won the play-off matches of the Second Category.
Referring to Article 24.7 of the Football Activity Regulations, the participation of two teams from the same club in the same category is not allowed. Also, Article 24.8 stipulates that, in cases where team “A” is relegated to the category where team “B” is located, then team “B” is automatically relegated one category below.
Consequently, regardless of the sporting result achieved, KF Bylis B cannot participate in the First Category and will return to the Second Category for the 2026/27 sports season.
Since the regulations foresee the consequence for KF Bylis B, but do not expressly determine the manner of filling the vacant place in the First Category in such a situation, according to Article 41 of the FSHF Statute, in these cases it should be the Albanian FA Executive Committee that will take the decision.
Following the proposal of the Leagues and Competitions Committee and the Legal Committee, the Executive Committee decided that a single play-off match between KF Kukësi and KF Butrinti should be played, in neutral territory, to determine the team that will participate in the First Category in the 2026/27 sports season.
Details on the date, time and stadium of this match will be made public later by the FSHF Competitions Department.
