The biopic movie for Lorik Cana entitled ‘’Lorik’’ was presented in the gala evening organized in Tirana. The private premiere organized by Lorik Cana 5 Foundation was attended by many personalities of sport, politics and diplomacy. Also present was the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta and Prime ministers of Kosovo and Albania, Ramush Haradinaj and Edi Rama. The Albanian Football Association was represented by a delegation headed by President Armand Duka, Deputy Presidents, Lutfi Nuri and Edvin Libohova, General Secretary, Ilir Shulku, Administrative Director Kejdi Tomorri and the head coach of the national team, Christian Panucci.
It was the perfect night to make the official presentation of Lorik Cana 5 Foundation, as was stated by captain Cana himself, who in his speech explained that this Foundation is focused in two aspects : Sports and Culture, with the emphasis on cultural heritage. ‘’Before ending my career I thought of many ways of giving a sort of contribution for the society and my country. There it started the idea of the Foundation that is the right way to be accessed as a media window. The first focus , cultural heritage , comes as a consequence of my passion for the history and love for my Albania. As for the second direction I took the necessary time to select the right program. At the end together with the staff, decided to invest into building an educative program for the children in kindergartens, offering them sports premises and education so that can have access with sports since a young age’’.
The President of AFA, Armand Duka, in his speech underlined the proud cooperation that the institution he heads has created with the Lorik Cana Foundation, a cooperation that was achieved within 3 months, and the Executive Committee of the Association convinced immediately for supporting Lorik Cana and his cause, and starting from this month AFA will contribute with two football fields in Elbasan and Shkodër.
‘’Lorik did a great job with the documentary, maybe it could have been longer. He came early into the national team and rapidly turned into a leader with lots of contribution and results. A lot of sacrifices that at the end he was the pride for all Albania. He continues to contribute in the Albanian society, because that how he likes to consider the activity of his foundation. No more or less that 2-3 minutes we needed convincing for the initiative that he undertook. For supporting Lorik and his cause. We will continue to support the foundation and causes like this. I wish success to Lorik and ‘’Cana 5’’ Foundation and better condition for football’’.
In his speech, Pm Rama praised the figure and the contribution of Lorik Cana in sports and not only. ‘’Lorik is the embodiment of what unites the Albanians when they watch the national team, the unification of everyone, for the Albanian that we have, that Albania that we will have and for Albania that we don’t have. Cana is the example that testifies that if you can see a dream you can achieve it’’.
