The Albanian Football Association, in cooperation with UEFA, successfully concluded the Regional Club Licensing Workshop, a two-day event held in Tirana aimed at developing and professionalizing European football.
Representatives from 19 UEFA member associations attended the workshop, receiving training from UEFA’s top experts on club licensing standards, criteria, and processes, with a focus on harmonizing practices and improving management quality at both national and international levels.
AFA Administrative Director, Aldi Topçiu, highlighted the significance of the workshop in an interview with fshf.org, emphasizing the excellent collaboration with UEFA and the participating federations, as well as the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences to support the professional development of clubs.
“We successfully concluded the Regional Licensing Workshop. It was an event worth recognizing. We thank UEFA for their support in organizing this activity. Representatives from 19 federations across Europe participated. We had the opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas on the latest developments regarding club licensing processes and the most recent decisions of UEFA’s decision-making bodies and international tribunals on this matter.
The collaboration continues to be excellent. What I would highlight is the very positive feeling among all participating federations, many of which were visiting Albania for the first time and had the chance to see the realities of Albanian football. These events are also valuable for comparing practices between federations.
An interesting aspect of these workshops is always the opportunity to share ideas and perspectives among federations. They are especially useful for visiting federations to familiarize themselves with Albanian football, including visits to the Air Albania Stadium and the House of Football. We were able to present the latest developments and data from our federation regarding club licensing.
This workshop comes at a very timely moment. We are currently in the middle of the licensing process, and we hope it will help us ensure a healthier, better, and more successful process. Our goal is for licensing not to be just a formality for our clubs, but to become a solid roadmap for their development,” said Aldi Topçiu, AFA Administrative Director.
