The Albanian Football Association organized an iftar dinner this evening for football players, women footballers, club executives and presidents from the Abissnet Superiore, as well as for media representatives who are fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
The event has now become a tradition for the Football Association, which every year during this special period for Muslim believers brings together the large family of Albanian football in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect.
Those present were greeted by President Armand Duka, who wished everyone a blessed fast and emphasized the importance of the values conveyed by the month of Ramadan, which also align with the spirit of sport and football.
“Thank you for accepting the invitation of the Football Federation to this traditional iftar, because now every year the federation has made it a tradition to host an iftar. This iftar is not simply about sharing a meal, but it is an expression of respect for everyone who observes and fasts during Ramadan, an expression of respect not only for those of us in this hall, but for our entire football community.
The month of Ramadan is the month of reflection, respect, sacrifice, and dedication, but it is also the month of expressing the best human feelings and respect for one another.
The game of football also has a kind of similarity, because in football you also need discipline, unity, and solidarity, precisely the same virtues that are practiced and respected during the month of Ramadan.
I wish you all a blessed and accepted fast, and I wish health and goodness to you and to our entire football community and family. May your fast be accepted,” said President Duka.
