The Albanian Football Association would like to inform the public opinion, regarding the matter of broadcasting the matches of Superior Category. Starting from the matches of Sunday, 14.06.2020, between Partizani and Luftetari, AFA has decided the suspension of the broadcast of the 29th week of the National Championship and the matches of the National Cup by the company ‘’Digitalb’’.
This decision comes as the result of the contractual negligence by the side of the licensed subject for the implementation of the agreed conditions in the contract and the completion of all the necessary legal steps. Specifically, through the note Nr. 725 Prot. date 17.05.2019, Nr.1099 Prot. date 02.09.2019 and Nr.337 Prot. date 09.03.2020 with subject ‘’Fulfillment of obligations’’, AFA has requested the payment of the accumulated sum due to non-payment, without having an official response from ‘’Digitalb’’.
Despite the above mentioned, not wanting a ‘’black-out’’ of the football activity, AFA has proposed on 04.06.2020, a payment schedule for easing the debt and setting a reasonable deadline for its payment. If the deadline is crossed and there is no official response, AFA informs with regret that it is obliged to suspend the broadcast for ‘’Digitalb’’.
Following the legal steps, this broadcast suspension will continue until the fulfillment of the contractual obligations.
AFA would like to underline that the accumulated debt is considerable and in the conditions when these are direct revenues for the member clubs, and they are being deprived from their rights, especially in a difficult economic situation caused by the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, in the efforts of overcoming this situation, AFA has been broadcasting free of charge the matches at the official website www.fshf.org, in order for the Albanian fans not miss the opportunity to follow their teams.
