The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, in the premises of the Prime Ministry, hosted the Albanian national team and the leaders of the Albanian Football Federation. In front of the head of the Albanian Government and throughout boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit”, thousands of people and fans had come to see the team that fulfilled a big dream, the qualification for the European Championship in France 2016. A simple ceremony was then organized.
“I trusted in you, in your team, in our wonderful coach and the Albanian Football Federation with President Armand Duka, even when many abandoned you after the last two matches. It was an extraordinary achievement, a historical one for Albania and Albanians” – exclaimed, among others Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama. He then awarded the medal of gratitude of the Prime Minister to the national team’s captain Lorik Cana, which he has praised for his contribution to this team. The Prime Minister also presented two other medals to coach Gianni De Biasi and President of the Albanian Football Federation Armand Duka, to whom he also did not spare his special appraisals. “We thank the Prime Minister for his support, especially in critical moments, just when few people believed that we would succeed”, – said President Duka. The Prime Minister and President of the AFF both presented the fact that soon the work for the construction of the new stadium in Tirana will begin. “We guarantee that this facility will be the most prestigious and beautiful one in Tirana”, – declared President Duka.
